# Review a rebalance

> Check an account, request optimization, and review the saved proposal before any trade decision.

Use a rebalance review to compare a client account's current holdings with its assigned portfolio. This example continues with Taylor Morgan's synthetic account and **Aggressive Portfolio**. A proposal is an analysis and review result; it does not place orders.

## 1. Check account readiness

Ask Tilt Agent: **"Check whether Taylor Morgan's account is ready for optimization. Show its saved holdings, assigned portfolio, and any blockers. Do not run an optimization yet."**

Check the client and account identity, holdings freshness, assigned model, and effective allocation. Resolve any missing holdings, assignment, or configuration blocker before proceeding. If an earlier completed proposal is still current, ask to review it first.

## 2. Request an optimization

When the saved inputs are right, ask: **"Run an optimization for Taylor Morgan's account using its saved Aggressive Portfolio and current settings."** This explicit request authorizes submission; Tilt Agent does not promise another confirmation before starting the job. If the account or inputs changed since your readiness check, inspect them again before sending the run request. The account's **Optimization** tab warns when holdings or configuration changed after a prior run; a stale proposal requires a new optimization before execution.

Tilt Agent follows the run until it finishes and retains the proposal. A pending run has no result to review yet. If the run fails, inspect the stated reason before deciding whether to request another run.

## 3. Review the saved proposal

Ask: **"Show the completed proposal for Taylor Morgan's account, including proposed holdings, trades, drift, and costs."** Check that the proposal belongs to the account you selected and uses the current saved inputs. Review its full proposed target, not just a sampled summary. Ask for the underlying report when you need to understand a tax, turnover, or constraint result.

A completed proposal can have no trades. That is a valid no-action outcome. If Tilt Agent provides a link to the account's proposal review view, opening it lets you inspect the persisted proposal. It does not approve or execute it.

**Reviewing a proposal does not execute trades.** Any order requires a separate decision and confirmation in the account interface. Do not treat a completed optimization, a report, or a reviewed proposal as evidence that an order was placed.

To work across several accounts, [select and optimize a cohort](/advisor/optimize-accounts) explicitly.
